An unidentity is an organism, a machine, or a system that modulates according to input from the inhabitants of that city, especially in the form of youtube videos, flickr pages, or Mexican myspace. This project also deals with my memory of that city, when juxtaposed with the collective memory, and or offiicial statistics.

Group Meeting with Lorraine Wild and Class,

Thesis:
I am Interested in integrated media projects as a vehicle for demonstrating, illustrating, and representing issues of identity, and social interaction.

supplement:
I am interested in taking a reframing approach rather than a problem solving approach. Because the identity of modern mexican society is unbalanced focusing almost exclusively on this society as a so called third world, and its popular vernacular culture; thus presenting an incomplete view of Mexico. This compounded with the negative attention payed to immigrant, poverty, and ecological issues.

Subject:
My subject is the burrough of La Condesa in Mexico City, which has become a hub for young designers, and artists who are fusing the Mexican Vernacular with contemporary preocupations in art, and design on an international level bypassing the hackneyed issues related to aztec and colonial issues, which have been assimilated.

form:
Video installation, connecting a space in La Condesa, to either a space at CalArts, or in Los Angeles, ossibly Machine Project a gallery whose work has focused on work about interaction, and community; which is located in a traditionally hispanic neighborhood.

Research:
Political Geographies, Teddy Cruz, sympathetic experience, ethnography, personal sculpture,

ambigious:
What is the role of design content?
Is there a time based element?

From conversation with Ed Fella, the next day
Something I am a part of, international, cosmopolitan, first second world, business vs. design, EU vs USA,.

The thesis is easy the proof is in the graphics, a now experience.

How do I communicate from investigation, experience forging an identity for myself,

San Diego's art scene, art design installation, spaces.

What issues am I interested in

deal with a world, the international global scene –
Iceland, Mexico, Los Angeles

Hot vs Cold; volcanic

To go beyond what is represented_
commodity culture,
legacy of guilt

From A Conversation with Julie: how is the project about identity -------------- objective is to create an experience: the identity of the burrough of la condesa through video installation.-------------- curating identiy vs. creating identity.
-------------- remote collaboration------------- experiential identity project ------------ physicalize myspace - the virtual community becomes physical ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ models for communication and community -------mass collaboraion
------ the role of the designer_______-------- can it go for a long time how can you make it work. ------------- CURATORIAL, designer as curator-------------- where does the virtual meet the physical as mediated by graphic design ------------ the two forms are a video installation and a website -------

conversation with Nikki: it should also be worthwhile to the residents of la condesa ------ "what am I silty art of it ; they" ---- creating communicative ties between two creative communities -------- designer as curator vs. designer as editor ---------- why is it experiential as oppossed to something else ------ creating a dialogue between two creative groups ------ what is the graphic design doing? ====== //from the printout of the pres // global form, local content/issues ------ subculture: design oriented street culture --------- showing the space/place ------ time specific ------ a case study
