During my IM year, I spent a lot of time making posters for visiting artists, designers, and my friend's shows.

My favorites are the Shinique wall panel, and the Sound Looking- Rain Poster. Shiniques' poster tries to evoke the sado-masochistic, industrual, aspect of her work. It is printed on inexpensive wrapping paper which came in long rolls that reminded me of wall paper which I felt again addressed the issue of wrapping, and restraint.

The Sound Looking- Rain Poster was made for my friend Kichul, it was a collaboration with Stephanie de Mann from the Jan Van Eyck Academie in Holland. I had found these weather maps that were repetitious fileds of numbers that mapped out regions on the globe, and I showed it to Stephanie and we went to work to interpret that. This poster was made in the dutch modernist style, and we had developed a typographic system which we used to layout the type. We downloaded precipitation data from a Korean website and layed it out at 3pts/5pts and printed it with clear gloss base. We got a lot of kudos on this one.
